Perfume Review: ZealSCENTS-Velvet Crimson 𖤓 。𖦹°‧ ⋆☀︎.

So recently I received some perfumes from ZealSCENTS and I thought it would be a great idea to review them for you (I’m amazing, aren’t I?) Before I start, I have a few remarks.
Personally, I hadn’t heard of the brand before I received these perfumes but apparently, they make designer perfume. Most of their perfumes range from Ksh 9,500 upwards with some even reaching as high as Ksh.36,400 (though that price is more for the 100ml perfumes)
I think it’s clear to see that I am not well versed in the vast world of perfume but I really love good perfumes. So, let’s see if these perfumes are really worth the price (Because they are quite pricey!)
⋆ ❂⋆˚࿔THE UNBOXING ⋆ ❂⋆˚࿔

I had just woken up when these photos were taken and that’s why I’m in my pajamas. But I have the cutest pajamas ever so we just gonna roll with it. The perfume itself comes in a dark red box that is specialized to each scent you buy as they place the name of the perfume at the front of the box in gold along with their brand. As you can see, the one I’m opening is Velvet crimson. Before I continue can I just take a moment to say that velvet crimson is the most fulfilling name ever? It complements itself so well. Like if you try to imagine what velvet crimson is, it will be exactly what you think of. You may or may not be getting my drift but that’s okay. They do say my genius is the type that comes after a millennia (charismatically strokes my magnificent mustache as I chuckle)

Now onto the inside, as soon as you open the box you are greeted by a BEAUTIFUL perfume bottle on a velvety white background (sticking to the theme I see). And can we take a moment to admire the bottle? It has this really unique design that looks like dye/food colour diffusing into water. It seems each perfume comes with its own colour scheme and for this one its orange, yellow and a dark red that turns into a deep purple depending on where you view it from which I believe is so cool. To top it off, we have a nice little diamond lid (pun intended).

On the inside of the box there is a message written in gold about the uniqueness of the scent and the origin of the scent. I won’t lie before sitting down to write this post I had never really sat down and read it simply because I didn’t think it would be of any use but after reading it really describes the scent of the perfume well.
⋆ ❂⋆˚࿔THE REVIEW ⋆ ❂⋆˚࿔

I didn’t mention this earlier but when you first open the box you are immediately hit with its scent so you would think you would have a pretty good idea of what it would smell like when you actually sprayed it. Well, the first spritz smells nothing like the perfume at all, actually it smells very strongly of alcohol and for those of you who might say “Well alcohol is a main component of perfume.” Well if I wanted to smell like vodka wouldn’t I just go apply that? I’m sorry for being passive aggressive but its true.
You have to let it settle and man once it settles you just might fall in love because I know I did. I would say what it smells like most is cherries so it’s a fruity scent. It also has a slight hint of spiciness too it which when you think about it shouldn’t work but it really does.
So, it starts off with this cherry and spice scent and slowly moves on to a softer scent. I personally am a huge fan of soft scents and scents that smell like the colour pink such as BVLGARI rose Goldea and this one also completely meets the standard, though I have to say it smells more of the colour red but in a really good way. The softness I was talking about apparently is myrrh and sandalwood as stated in the little message on the inner side of the cover which I have never smelt before but it’s a very nice scent, comforting in a way.
Apart from the scent itself they are a few things to note about this perfume one of them being that it is long lasting. It will stay the whole day even when your active and all. I also like that its gentle because during the cold season I tend to avoid perfume as I catch very bad colds very easily just from the scent of perfume and I’m glad to say this perfume doesn’t do that to me at all! I have also gotten many compliments on it. I think my favourite part of wearing it is smelling myself the whole day, smelling how good it smells just makes me happy.
⋆ ❂⋆˚࿔HOW TO WEAR PERFUME⋆ ⋆❂˚࿔
Now as a bonus, I will give you tips and tricks that help will your ace your perfume game and increase the longevity of the scent because we all know how horrible it feels to leave the house smelling amazing and reach the function smelling nothing but deodorant.
Tip n.o 1
Spray the perfume on your pulse points,
- Pulse points are areas on the body where blood vessels are closest to the skin. These points emit more heat compared to the rest of the body which help diffuse the perfume. This not only helps increase the aroma of the perfume but also its longevity. Another bonus of spraying perfume points on the pulse points is that doing so helps reduce the amount of perfume used, which means it also increases the lifespan of your perfume! Such pulse points are the wrists, sides of the neck, behind the ears, the inner part or the elbows, behind the knees and the collarbone.
Tip n.o 2
Moisturize before applying perfume.
- You should apply a moisturizer before applying your perfume. I recommend a heavier one such as Vaseline or any other petroleum jelly. If you do not have a moisturizer that matches or compliments your perfume choice use one without scent.
Tip n.o 3
Take a shower before applying your perfume.
The best time to apply perfume is after a shower. Not only is your skin clean and dirt free, it is also warmer which greatly helps the skin absorbs the fragrance. Drying yourself before applying your perfume helps make sure the scent does not evaporate as it would if you applied than dried yourself after. Also just like the moisturizing tip, if you don’t have any soaps or gels that match or compliment your perfume choice opt for one without any scent.
Tip n.o 4
Avoid rubbing.
- As easy as it is to spray perfume on one wrist and rub it to the other or even rub on your neck, It doesn’t help the scents longevity. Actually, you will be setting yourself up for not smelling like anything over a short period of time. Instead, just spray your perfume and let it dry, it actually smells better that way too.
Tip n.o 5
Spray the perfume from a distance.
- Spraying from a distance is a great way to no overdo your perfume and get just the right amount. I also prefer spraying from a distance to avoid the scent be too concentrated which may end up irritating my nose. It is recommended you spray about 5-7 inches away from the skin but for those who can’t exactly tell how far away 5-7 inches are (such as myself) I recommend spraying it a hand width away so basically the width of your dominant hand or the one spraying.
Tip n.o 6
Pick your perfumes well.
- For my final tip, I beg you to pick your perfume well. This may be a controversial one but it’s the truth your perfume won’t last for long and smell good if your perfume is of bad quality. You could try all you want to smell like it all day but in the end your effort will go to waste. So, when choosing perfumes make sure to pick ones that will be worth your money.
Now that you’ve made it to the end I wanted to add this here\( ˶ˆᗜˆ˵ )/. What you just read is actually the second rewriting of this post. I had initially written it all out BUT IT DIDNT SAVE. When i opened up my laptop to find it missing i almost shed tears. I was actually gonna scrap the whole thing entirely because i was so convinced nothing i could write would be able to top the original one.
What made it EVEN worse is that unlike all my other posts, I didn’t make a rough draft or any type of layout for this post. So i was back to square one. WITH NO RECOLLECTION OF WHAT I HAD EVEN YAPPED ABOUT IN THE ORIGINAL. Long story short this post was a STRUGGLE, so please show it some love!
Anyways, thank you for staying for my extra ramble, i feel much better getting this out. Until ncxt time, cya!
