The Movies And Shows of My 2026 ˙✧˖°🎥 ༘ ⋆｡🎞️˚

It’s been a while since I’ve written anything really. So, to get myself into that writing rhythm and all, I’m doing this post. A post full of random ramble, thoughts and opinions. Ones that would have probably end up on my diary if I didn’t remember that I literally have a blog!

Today’s topic is 🥁 🥁 🥁: MOVIES AND SHOWS IVE WATCHED THIS YEAR

I started this year a bit slow I won’t even lie. I haven’t watched many movies or shows really this year. Like compared to how I was moving last year, I’ve definitely settled down. But that doesn’t mean I haven’t watch one two things here and there

1. Better Days °·𓆝𓆟𓆞·｡˚○

For the first movie I watched “Better days.”

It’s a Chinese movie that follows Chen Nian, who is trying to get through her exam period and sit for the gaokao whilst facing severe bullying. So, she asks a teen thug to protect her. BRO this movie was so freaking good like I won’t even lie; I suck at watching movies. I feel it easier to watch shows instead, despite them being longer.

I have so many movies in my watchlist that I haven’t even touched. BUT THIS MOVIE HAD ME SATTTTT. I didn’t even have time to get distracted on my phone. I even ended up taking notes of the movie as I watched. The storyline, cinematography, development of relationships, all of it was chef’s kiss.

See at first, I wasn’t sure whether to watch it or not, cause I was struggling to decide between this or 18×2 beyond youthful days (I am still yet to watch it). AND I WAS JUST GOING OFF OF EDITS MAHNNN. So ultimately, an edit made me pick it. It was an edit of the two main leads with the song “Wahdon” by Fairuz, PEAK EDIT BTWWW. If any of y’all want to watch it, it’s in my reposts. I can EASILY say it’s my favourite movie ever.

Though I am thinking about making a post of all my favourite movies (and you know it’s gonna be a gold mine cause I’m picky with my movies). It would have already been made by now if I actually knew how to write a half decent review so there’s that. So, before your girl learns, GO WATCH THIS MOVIE, ITS SOOOOO GOOD.

2. Monster. ˚˖𓍢ִ໋༄˖.🍃.ೃ࿔

The second movie I watched was Monster. See your girl was sick that day, so I stayed home from school. So, I was like, “what movie is getting picked from the watch list today?” and we ended up on Monsters. THIS MOVIE SCARED ME HALF TO DEATH.

It’s split into three perspectives/parts, all describing the same story.  It was a rollercoaster ride all through. I won’t go into it all too much just in case you are reading this and want to watch it. But after the second part/ perspective, I WAS SO DEAD SET THERES SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE KIDS, LIKE THEY WERE ACTING SO CREEPY AND MYSTERIOUS I JUST COULDN’T HELP GETTING SPOOKED.

But when I finally got to know why they did what they did, and their thoughts, I warmed up immensely to them. They were my babies. I absolutely loved the cinematography plus the creative way they decided to tell the story. MY ENDING IS A HAPPY ENDING BTW (iykyk)

Then in the shows sector (since I don’t watch a lot of movies), was “A Shop For Killers.”

3. A Shop For Killers. 𓌜 ☣︎ ᡕ ᠵ デᡁ᠊╾━💥

Now for a little backstory. The first time I saw this show was maybe last year or the year before. My sister and I were on Youtube shorts (AS A PAST TIME). And the thing about the YouTube algorithm on our TV is that it’s ALWAYS bringing those narrations of movies. You know the ones that have “Washing Machine Heart” in the background and the videos quality is so enhanced it looks uncanny?

Not to mention, the narration is either from the perspective of the character themselves or a narration the creator makes? Yeahhhh so it was one of those that made me aware of the show. Then this year I was craving a thriller, like a frequently do. So, one thing led to another and I decided to watch it. I would be lying If I said Lee Dong-Wook’s presence in the show wasn’t also a factor that drove me to watch it too, but I digress.

AND DANG WAS IT GOOOOOD. It’s the kind of show where everything is detailed and everything connects in one way or another to the point I had a whole Google Doc just to make ‘em connections and work through it all. I may be a bit extra but what can I say.

I really just loved the story BUT WHAT I LOVED MOST, was how Jian had been prepared for all that happens all throughout the time she stayed under her uncle’s care. Like all the little tests and training her for a battle she didn’t know she was preparing for, its just so peak mahn.

Not to mention every time Jeong Jin Man was on some “Listen Up Jian,” I would listen up too. Personally, if I was Jian and was put in her position, I’d be as good as finished. I genuinely wouldn’t remember all his teachings and nugget of wisdom.

To top it off, I really liked the intro, esp the part where the battery, I think that’s what a group of guns is called, would come together to close the intro off. I just love the sound of it. Also, the times where they would dissemble a gun and put it back together, it may be weird to say this but, I genuinely like how it sounds. Anyways, we on the look out of season two.

4. The Judge From Hell ݁₊ ⚖️ .📜 ݁˖ . ݁𓌜

I was also led to this show from them YouTube shorts lol. I started watching it when I was procrastinating working on my blog. So as you can tell, I had the motivation. But I genuinely did not like the first episode. Judge Kang pissed me off because she always rushed into things and ended up making a bIgger mess. And I was like ughhh PLEASE TAKE A MINUTE TO THINK THINGS THROUGHHH!

I was so close to dropping it, but then again I was using it as a distraction from the fact I was procrastinating being productive so I had to carry on. THEN IT SUDDENLY GOT GOOD, and the rest is history. I really enjoyed it, but my favourite part was Judge Kang and The Detective. Bro I’m not too big on watching romance, BUT I WAS ROOTING FOR THEM SO DANG HARD, YOU DON’T UNDERSTAND. They had me geeking out the same way Ha-ru and Eun Dan Oh had me geeking in Extraordinary you (peak show btw) Though I still haven’t finished it, I have one more episode to go.

5. Beyond Evil. ›｡𖦹°‧⌛ ⋆ ⌕ .ᐟ.ᐟ⋆𓇢𓆸

Lastly for this post we have this MASTERPIECE, though how i got to watching it also has a backstory.

So during the April holiday, I had some friends over and they checked out my laptop yeah? And they told me that if I didn’t start closing all my millions of tabs and multiple windows, as well as shutting down my laptop (which I hadn’t done in weeks btw) my laptop may as well just explode ( well they probably said crash but same thing.) And I love my laptop so I was like there’s no way on Gods green earth I would let that happen, so I closed all my windows and shut it down for a few day.

Because I love my laptop, my laptop is my life mahn. I’m actually currently in mourning cz there’s something wrong with a part of my laptop screen and I don’t know what to do 🙁 So now as I was letting my child rest, I was watching Netflix on the tv. The thing is during this period, I had come across the k-drama “Blind”, and after reading about it a bit I was like “I really wanna watch thissss,”

HOWEVER, it’s not on Netflix and I couldn’t use my laptop to search it off some random site on the internet. So basically I couldn’t watch it, so I decided to browse through Netflix suggestions and stumbled cross “Beyond Evil” And as any normal person does, I went to tiktok to see some edits, make sure its worth my time (Because im a very busy person) Then I discovered there was some tension between the two main leads I was like BASSSS, IM WATCHING THIS.

The cinematography in the first episode is soooo good, it had me so hooked. The reed scene in that episode just felt to beautiful to me, the time they went to find the grandpa. It makes me feel this sense of calm for some reason, I will have to go back and screenshot it. And (slight minor spoiler) I have to say I love the way Oh Ji-Hoon screams Dong-sik’s name when he’s terrified. ITS JUST SO PERFECT MAHNNNN. Maybe its just me whose a bit biased, cause Oh Ji-Hoon is my favourite character, his dimples hooked me from the first moment I had the pleasure of witnessing them lol.

The other characters are developed really well, I love their own different backstories and motives for acting in the ways they do. I just thinks it’s so creative and well thought out to the point where I don’t think I’m stressing enough HOW WELL THE CHARACTERS ARE DONE. The actors did a big one in this one too, so props to them. The mystery is also engaging and captivating, it’s the type that gets you so hooked that you start tryna decipher the killer out loud. Like the amount of times I’ve had to pause and voice out my thoughts and opinions to no one has been A LOT. BUT I LOVE WHEN SHOWS GET ME LIKE THAT, blabbering like a mad woman.

I also wanna talk about Han Joo-won, I will try being a bit vague as to not spoil for anyone who to watch it, or are still in the process of watching, but if I had to describe him in one word, my word of choice would be Obsessed. BECAUSE THAT’S WHAT MY MAN IS. HES NOT EVEN DEDICATED, HES DOWN RIGHT OBSESSED. Not just with his mission but also with Dong-sik. Cause why is this man always in his house. YKW  AS SOON AS I HAD THAT EXACT THOUGHT, DONG-SIK MADE A JOKE ABOUT IT, BRO I WAS SO STOKED LIKE WE ARE GENUIENLY THINKING THE SAME THING.

Anyways at the time of writing this I have not finished the show, I had to lock in and put in the work in order to get everythiong ready and set up the blog, which I just did recently! 🥳 A GIRLS REALLY EXCITEDDDD cause its been a long time coming lol. This was originally going to be post of my yapping about different topics but this far in I have only covered the first out of three topics I wanted to talk about and the way its looking, if I did decide to try fit everything I wanted to talk about in this one singular post, the reading time would be horrendous.

So to save you my lovely readers the trouble I’m going to make this into two parts, so look out for the second part. Which will now focus more on music.
