This is a sequel to my post, How to Stay Organized in School – Keeping school work in check. So if you have not already checked it out, GO DO THAT RIGT NOW!!!!!

ORGANIZING DAYTO-DAY SCHOOL LIFE

1.Have a planner βœ§Λ–Β°πŸ“Žβ‹† ˚q

A planner according to google is a list or chart with information that is an aid to planning. As you can guess it is a good way to keep everything in check. When picking a planner, you can try different planner systems to find which one works best for you. First, you can decide if you want a physical or a digital planner. If you prefer a physical planner most book stores sell them and for a digital planner you could opt for Notion.

A planner should have all your due dates, upcoming projects, assignments and basically everything that you have that needs to be worked on and submitted. Planners for one, help you not forget any of the above I’ve listed and plan out what you will need to do daily to work towards finishing it on time. We all know how dreadful it is when you realize there was a project thatΒ  you completely forgot about and is due very soon.

Which leads me to another benefit of having a planner which is, it will help you have an even spread of work load. It is so stressful when you procrastinated starting a certain project and now you are trying to do it all in half the time frame provided, along with staying on top of everything else. Planners help you start early enough to not end up in this predicament and also help you just do what is needed over a comfortable amount of time. And in the end the outcome of your assignment will be pretty good and the process to getting there would not have been at all too stressful.

A tip I can give when using a planner is to make sure you prioritize your tasks based on deadlines and importance to avoid last minutes stress!

And lastly on the benefits of planners is that they help you maintain a daily routine. I feel much better and feel like I have more control over my time when I have a set routine or a to do list planning out how I’ll spend my time on a particular day. Personally, when all I have is a vague idea of what I need to do in a certain day, the day just gets wasted without me having completed anything which sucks. For a to do list, you have the freedom to write it anywhere so there is literally no excuse to not having one daily and just going wherever the wind takes you.

2. Have a study space βœ§Λ–Β°πŸ“Žβ‹† ˚q

Setting aside an area which is specially for studying is a great way to increase your organization. They are multiple benefits of having a study space/area. Some of these include:

❀ Minimizes distractions– helps reduce interruptions from noise, clutter and surrounding environment which allows for better concentration.Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β Β

❀ Improves organization– Allows for materials and resources to be easily accessible and orderly which prevents time wastage when trying to find what you need.

❀ Promotes comfort– Having a set study area makes studying more comfortable and more enjoyable. It also contributes to a calmer state of mind, reducing stress and anxiety.

❀ Mental association– Consistently studying in the same place helps your brain make a connection, associating that space with learning making it easier to maintain a focused mindset in the space.

❀ Improves productivity– When in a space free of distractions and associated it studying it helps on retain focus and help you get larger amounts of work completed in a shorter amount of time thus improving overall productivity.

Your study area should meet a few requirements in order for you to reap its full benefits. For one your study area should be clean and neat. It is always way easier to concentrate in a place that is clean and tidy. When studying you need peak concentration. Make sure when your done with your study session you clear up and before you start another make sure to wipe it down incase of any accumulation of dirt and dust.

Another requirement of your study space is that it should be well equipped. Of course, its most convenient to have everything you need while working on something, its basically how when you are about to start working on a project you first collect supplies. Now think of studying like it is that project of yours. It also helps you avoid constantly getting up and moving around because you need to find a certain something.

Try romanticizing or decorating your study space. Everything becomes way better when you personalize it and your study space should be no exception. You can add somethings to make your space more to your liking and more comfortable for you. This is not like your seating area at school and its not meant to feel like it, so feel free to add a little spice to it.

3.Breaking Down tasks βœ§Λ–Β°πŸ“Žβ‹† ˚q

Breaking down tasks into smaller, more manageable steps helps make them more achievable. Instead of working on a huge task and trying to handle it all at once, it is easier to break it down into different small steps that when done, will accumulate to the completion of the larger, more difficult tasks.

4. Finding Balance βœ§Λ–Β°πŸ“Žβ‹† ˚q

It is so important to find a healthy balance between your studies and your life outside school. There is time for everything, so you need to learn to not let your studies overtake the rest of your life. If you do there is a high chance you will burnout and in the long run this will be damaging for both your academics and life, so it really is important to put boundaries on this.

Now that we have come to the end of this, I hope you have found something helpful, something that can add abit of order to your school life and make it overall easier to handle. Ciao!
